OpenView Welcomes Natalie Diggins as Firm’s First Entrepreneur in Residence

Diggins will work closely with the firm’s portfolio to help scale product and engineering teams and provide a range of technical consulting services

BOSTON – OpenView, the expansion stage VC, today announced the addition of Natalie Diggins as the firm’s first Entrepreneur in Residence. Diggins, who has a background in technical operations and DevOps, will work with OpenView’s portfolio to provide technical consulting services. Diggins joins OpenView’s existing Product & Engineering practice, which is responsible for building out engineering teams across the portfolio, specifically at companies including Socrata, Scalr and Skytap.

“We are thrilled to welcome Natalie to OpenView,” said Scott Maxwell, OpenView Founder & Managing Partner. “Software companies at the expansion stage often grow faster than their technology and operational procedures can scale, which can lead to downtime, latency and frustrated customers. Our technical recruiting practice has long helped our companies hire the talent they need to grow and now with Natalie on board, we’re better equipped to help the companies we work with set technical priorities, establish procedures and identify and support opportunities for investment and growth.”

“I’m excited to work with OpenView’s portfolio companies to effectively scale their technology and operations through the expansion stage and beyond,” said Diggins. “OpenView is unusual in the extent to which the check is only the beginning of the support the firm delivers – their investment continues directly and indirectly long after the round is closed. It’s a great model for both investors and companies.”

In addition to her role as EIR at OpenView, Natalie serves as an Advisor at UpGuard, the system of record for DevOps. Prior to joining OpenView, Diggins was VP Cloud Strategy and Platform at NeuStar, where she led the development of the firm’s IoT strategy. She previously served in technical capacities at companies including Zoove, mBlox and ATG (acquired by General Electric). She is also the co-founder of New Edge Networks (acquired by Earthlink) where she served as VP of Operations.

Diggins’ hire marks another senior addition to OpenView’s Expansion Platform, the largest team and network dedicated to helping expansion stage software companies dominate their markets. Most recently, OpenView added Elizabeth Cain as VP of Go-to-Market and will continue to bolster its platform with additional hires across recruiting and market strategy.
