Confessions of a Cold Calling Queen

In a recent blog, the self-professed, queen of cold calling, Wendy Weiss shares her royal secrets for success.  Brief, yet packed with powerful

cold calling advice, her regal rules include:

  • A script seems like a cold calling crutch.  However, if you include possible objections in it and know your product, a script will ease your nerves and increase the odds for success.
  • Prospects that are already using a product like yours obviously need it.  They also need to know when a better item is available for less money.  Know and project how your knowledge is helping them.


  • Make meeting and contact information crystal clear. Repeat meeting times at least twice, and exchange full contact information.
  • When setting the meeting and sharing contact information, take it slow. Verbal cues like slowing down encourage the listener to write it down and avoid mix-ups.

These tiny tips can make a world of difference in the dog-eat-dog, cold calling kingdom.
