There are enumerable other factors, but to be sure, social media has its place on the totem pole. This is an issue because the social media needs to be harnessed to work for you, not the other way around.

In this article, the author explains that, “embracing social media should not mean organizational change, it should change the organization.” It’s important to keep the campaign in perspective and view it from the larger, corporate context. Don’t forget the company’s goals and mission statement.

Companies are going to be involved in social media whether they choose to participate or not. It is important, then, to put your best social media face forward.
