Manage Conflict with Collaboration
Conflict, when handled correctly, can motivate employees.

Conflict can be a great motivator and it is a part of every dynamic organization. Therefore, the goal for managers is not to erase conflict, but to manage it in a manner that will maximize motivation.
A recent Global Strategic Management Solutions (GSMS) blog, suggests that smart managers are those who, “look at a conflict as an opportunity to build employee motivation.”
The GSMS blog also suggests that,“Employee motivation is affected by the way a person deals with a particular conflict because the style-Compete, Accommodate, Avoid, Compromise, or Collaborate-helps determine the amount of structure and consideration in the employee’s job environment.”
Whether you like it or not, conflict will be a part of your work environment. However, you can learn to manage it for increased innovation and to keep employees on their toes. GSMS offers a link to a free white paper on conflict-handling styles in the full post (link below).
