Looking to find top talent? Believe it or not, a company's website is the best online resource to find new hires -- beating out other platforms such as social media and job boards.
According to new data from SilkRoad, companies continue to shell out big dollars to bring in talent. In fact, the cost to find top-notch employees (Jedi warriors, if you will) costs about $3,500.
While recruiting costs go towards various online tools, not all of these platforms are created equal. Indeed.com far surpasses other sites including CareerBuilder, Monster and LinkedIn in terms of landing interviews and getting hired.
"Hiring managers may be surprised to learn that their own company websites are the very best online source of hires, accounting for 14% of the over 150,000 hires included in this report," Thomas Boyle, director of product strategy at SilkRoad, told Mashable. "Of the popular job search engines and job boards, Indeed.com is the best, producing 9% of all hires, followed by CareerBuilder, which generated 5%.”
The team at SilkRoad has put together a fun Star Wars-inspired infographic which highlights where it might be best to allocate recruitment costs.
“With literally thousands of recruitment sources to choose from, hiring managers need to be smart about where they spend valuable time and resources looking for candidates," Boyle added.
Note: the infographic reveals only part of the findings. (Overall, a company's website is the top way to find employees, but it focuses on the break down of internal vs. external hire sources). For the full report, click here.
