Smooth Landing = Higher Conversion

They surf, shuffle and scan the Internet and your goal is to get them to land at your site and convert them to customers. Landing pages are the place where your ads and/or newsletters link to and their design can make or break conversion rates.

There are a myriad of services like Unbounce and SiteTuners, that can help you design, test and track the success of your landing page campaigns.  Before you run out to hire these helpful vendors, here are few tips from marketing and digital technology coach John Jantsch on smooth landings and increased conversions.

  • Keep it simple: Don’t load your pages with multiple purposes. If you want people to sign up for a newsletter, keep the landing page focused on that action alone.
  • Test and track: Use more than one version of your page and test it regularly with a tool like Google’s Website Optimizer tool. No matter what tool you use, be sure to track individual ad conversions.
  • One page per campaign or ad: Do not overload your pages with mixed messages.  Ideally, each campaign should have its own landing page.
  • Video makes things move:  Seeing is  believing and using video on your landing pages has been shown to increase conversion. Video is engaging and well worth the effort.

A smooth landing for customers will equal higher conversion rates and more customers. Revisit and revamp these important pages today!
