Your Business Model in 10 Words or Less

Can you say your complete business model in 10 words or less? If not, your startup may not be getting the attention it deserves—or the profitability.

When creating your business model, make it a strategy—and avoid hip business jargon like:

  • Strategic
  • Mission-critical
  • World-class
  • Synergistic
  • First-mover
  • Scalable

Business Insider suggests taking a look at (and stealing) other company’s business models when crafting your own, such as:

  • Facebook: Everything’s free; money’s made through advertising.
  • eCommerce: Electronic catalog and shopping cart.
  • Shopkeeper: Displaying products and services for customers to see.
