Aberdeen Group Reports WAN Optimization a Priority for 'Best-in-Class' Network Managers

’2011 WAN Acceleration State of the Market’ Report Links Strategic Use of WAN Acceleration Technologies to Improved User Satisfaction

The Aberdeen Group report, authored by Aberdeen’s senior research analyst, Russ Klein, provides insights into the characteristics of top performing WAN Operators. The findings indicate that top performing WAN managers are addressing poor application performance with optimization and acceleration, rather than simply throwing more hardware and bandwidth at the problem.

“In the next year, over 30% of all respondents are planning to boost their use of APIs for network integration and also increase the centralization of WAN optimization and acceleration,” said Klein. “These steps will allow organizations to improve the effectiveness of their WAN acceleration solutions and also increase their ability to expand the benefits of optimization to emerging technology areas such as IP-based communications and mobile devices.”
