Ingram Micro signs up Acronis in Australia
Ingram Micro has inked a new distribution deal with back up and recovery vendor, Acronis.
The relationship stems from a global partnership between the two companies.
Ingram will have access to Acronis’ business products and joins Queensland-based distributor, Datastor in the line up.
Acronis retail products are provided through specialist republishing distributor, Mindscape.
Ingram Micro senior software business manager, Lee Welch, said Acronis complemented other vendors within its line-up particularly VMware, Red Hat and Microsoft.
“We’ve trained up our licensing and sales teams on these products already,” Welch said. “We’ve got dedicated people in our licensing team that are focused on delivering quick quote turn-around at competitive pricing.”
Acronis Pacific general manager, Karl Sice, said it was looking to build on the quality of relationships it currently maintains. Globally, Acronis has about 20,000 partners.
“Ingram’s got the capability of taking knowledge to the market that will give us greater reach,” Sice said. “In the time we’ve been working with them, the commitment and level of confidence they have has been good for us. The enthusiasm has been very encouraging; it’s going to help us be even more successful and will open up a number of channels that weren’t open to us previously.
“The products that we’re providing are volume-based and you need a capable partner who can not only fulfill the needs but also provide support. That’s where we’re hoping Ingram can fill the gap.”
