Skytap Customer, Sefas Innovation, Speaks at Interop
Industry Experts Discuss How the Cloud Model Is Delivering Results to Enterprises
SEATTLE, WA–(Marketwire – October 14, 2010) – Skytap, Inc., the leading provider of self-service cloud automation solutions, today announced that Herve Collin, vice president of operations at Sefas Innovation, will participate on the “Public Cloud End Users: Enterprises” panel at the Enterprise Cloud Summit at Interop on October 19, 2010 in New York.
At the event, Collin will discuss how Sefas Innovation is configuring Skytap environments to act as an extension of their data centers and to create a “hybrid cloud” architecture. Collin joins executives from PricewaterhouseCoopers, Cumulux, Cloudscaling and Dreambuilder Investments, to speak on the implementation of public clouds in their enterprises. The panelists will discuss how public cloud computing has changed the structure of their business, and key reasons to utilize third-party cloud services, such as Skytap, as opposed to building and using an internal private cloud.
Public Cloud End Users: Enterprises
When: Tues., Oct. 19 from 1:30 p.m. – 2:10 p.m. ET
Speakers: Herve Collin, vice president of operations, Sefas Innovation, Inc.; Brian Butte, director of cloud computing, PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP; Ranjith Ramakrishnan, chief cloud architect, Cumulux; Randy Bias, CEO of Cloudscaling; Jonathan Snyder, CTO of Dreambuilder Investments, LLC.
Description: Public clouds aren’t just for startups. Enterprises are using them for training, QA, and other non-production applications. They’re also leveraging their elastic capability for all manner of bursty applications, from monte carlo simulations to genomics to architectural modeling. This panel of established enterprise users will show us how on-demand computing is changing the way they run their businesses, and what convinced them to embrace third-party IT models.
Interop’s Cloud Computing track brings together cloud providers, end users, and IT strategists. It covers the strategy of cloud implementation, from governance and interoperability to security and hybrid public/private cloud models. The Enterprise Cloud Summit shows IT and business leaders how to take cloud initiatives one step further — from theory to implementation — learning about practical cloud computing designs, as well as the standards, infrastructure decisions, and economics needed to transform their IT organization.
