Dont Forget to Check, Reflect and Set for 2011!

December 17, 2010

The year 2010 is almost over and it’s about time for management teams to check, reflect and set. Retrospect on what happened over the past year and focus on what your vision and business growth strategies should look like for 2011. Soon you will be entering a new year with new target goals and you want to hit the ground running once January 1st arrives. This is something we constantly preach at OpenView Venture Partners to our portfolio companies. We recently provided operational support to our senior management teams by facilitating a session on this topic. As a reminder, the key things you should do before the end of the year are:

  • review the results that were achieved for the year
  • review any chronic impediments that were plaguing the year
  • discuss any key learning points and upcoming adjustments that are essential for next year
  • commit to achieving next year’s goals and also setting your goals for Q1
