A Social Media Marketer’s Dream: CoTweet
September 21, 2010
With the launch of the OpenView Labs website yesterday, I realized more than ever how heavily I rely on CoTweet. (For more on the Launch of the OpenView Labs Website see Amanda’s post!)
“CoTweet is a comprehensive Web-based social media engagement, management and reporting solution that helps companies of all sizes engage, track and analyze conversations about their brands across the most popular and influential social communities today, Twitter and Facebook”.
While I only use CoTweet to manage OpenView’s Twitter presence (@openviewventure) and have yet to utilize their Facebook tools, I can say that it makes my job much easier. While working to execute our content marketing strategy, I promote several links a day, typically to different websites. Some tweets direct followers to our blog, while others direct to YouTube or LinkedIn. By using CoTweet’s built in bit.ly application, I am able to track what content is resonating with our audience and quickly dial that content up. When we discover that content is pulling fewer visitors, we are able to tweak our approach. With CoTweet we are constantly testing and learning from our mistakes. And because CoTweet allows you to post tweets instantly or schedule them for later, we can make tweaks in real time and schedule content to be delivered hours later.
Another key benefit of CoTweet is the ability to manage multiple Twitter handles via one login. I manage my professional Twitter (@coreyolo), my personal account and OpenView’s account. The real advantage to this view is my ability to gather great content from those I follow on each account. If I find that one of the users I follow on my personal Twitter shared content relevant to OpenView’s expansion capital audience, I have the ability to re-tweet it as OpenView — a great influence marketing tool for any brand manager.
CoTweet allows me to easily track several key words and conversations at once. I can track several key terms at a time, staying up to speed on any developments that happen throughout the day.
The other aspect of the search function that really impresses me is that CoTweet can identify the end result of the link posted. If someone tweets a link to your website, but doesn’t mention your name in the tweet, CoTweet will still find it while searching.
One additional benefit, CoTweet understands that it takes many hands to manage your brand — by recognizing this they have created a functionality that allows you to “assign” a tweet to another user. For example, if someone tweeted a question about the Labs website that would be better answered by Amanda, I can assign that tweet to her, and she will be alerted via email.
The icing on the cake? No download required! No more platforms that slow your machine–manage your brand right from your browser.
