Agile Versus Waterfall Development Redux

Agile development has essentially redefined the way products are produced.

The development method that it replaced, the waterfall method, had become outdated and inefficient. More than half of the projects that are undertaken with the waterfall method end up being scrapped. And the rest of them come in over budget and behind the necessary deadlines. It’s clear why there is a general consensus that agile development methods are paramount to product and development.

In this video, the importance of agile methodologies and the problems with the waterfall process are outlined. With the latter development method, you can expect massive backlog build-ups, for example.
