Does a Chaotic Upbringing Give You a Competitive Advantage?
December 13, 2011
While the prospect of having your upbringing influence your business may seem scary to some, entrepreneur Steve Blank believes that this is actually a good thing.
In this short video, Blank likens a chaotic childhood to a competitive advantage in the startup world. People that can survive that uncertainty on a daily basis will usually thrive in the startup environment. Constant change and unexpected developments aren’t unfamiliar to them. Many of these same people have well-developed adaptation abilities, which lend themselves well to being an entrepreneur.
If you didn’t have an idyllic childhood, don’t worry (unless otherwise advised to by a clinical professional). According to Blank, you’re prepared to be an entrepreneur. For more on the value of chaos in your upbringing, watch the full video above.
