Human resources insider Dr. John Sullivan believes that, instead of looking for company fit, employers should start thinking about flexibility instead. An employee that can pivot and adapt with an innovative company is more desirable than one that may fit in now, but not later. As such, an employee should be graded through a long-term lens.

Having a flexible employee is akin to having a wild card; that employee can be utilized effectively in a number of ways. And, their abilities aren’t necessarily confined to the exact role that they initially served in, explains Sullivan in this short video.
