Focusing on Aspirations

October 7, 2009

I have been spending the first half of this week helping out one of our portfolio companies set their company aspirations (Mission / Vision / Values). Part of OpenView’s business development services focuses in on helping our companies key in on these very important topics. Many times companies focus in on their company exit strategy and neglect to take into account what is their purpose in building a company and how they are going to get there. Additionally, when taking expansion capital, it is good to have clarity amongst your team on where you are going long term, then building a plan that helps you get there with that capital.

It has been a long week so far (its only Wednesday), but we already have achieved some great progress! I am very excited to see the future that is ahead based on the path we are carving out.
