Tool to Help Build The Coolest UI Ever?

March 27, 2010

Four years ago I wrote a post on the Coolest AJAX UI Ever, where I also posted the UI and have continued to get exceptionally positive feedback that my UI remains the coolest ever. As an expansion stage venture capitalist that focuses on software and Internet companies, I expected to come across a cooler AJAX UI after four years, but the truth is that I haven’t. Take a look and I am sure that you will agree (Google agrees…just ask Google, by punching in “coolest AJAX UI”).

I have been hearing more and more about the Google Web Toolkit (GWT), which worries me a bit because the toolkit allows developers to build really really good AJAX applications with more productivity and higher quality. The toolkit may give the Coolest AJAX UI Ever some competition!

In all seriousness, if you have a SAAS application, a browser interface, or a website, you should really take a look at the Google Web Toolkit, as it has quite a lot of power and it is free. If you believe like I believe that the user experience is key to product and development (and also key to business growth strategies), you should definitely put some time into checking out GWT and giving it serious consideration.

If you have checked it out and/or are using it, I would really like to know your thoughts. Also, if you have an AJAX UI that you think is cooler than mine, let me know!
