Addressing the Leading Questions on B2B Marketing

September 10, 2010

Since 2008, B2B marketing has made great strides and significant changes.

At the MarketingProfs B2B forum, the question of where B2B marketing will be in two years was posed. Back then, social media was presenting itself as a new opportunity to create business. At that point, it was only starting to solidify itself. Still, the potential was evident. In general, the paradigm was shifting toward the internet and online offshoots.

The line separating marketers from their customers was also being thinned by social media and the fact that marketers were gaining unprecedented, direct access to their customers. Creating content online and scaling social media walls was on the minds of many at the forum that were looking to the future.

In hindsight, the forum offered a look at the social media revolution that was taking shape. Though nobody was certain where this change would take marketing at the time, now, the importance of the medium in marketing can’t be overlooked.
