Creating a Compelling Company is a Must

May 24, 2011

Entrepreneurs that get caught up in the details of their company, rather than the larger picture, often create a misguided startup.

It won’t necessarily be doomed to failure, but it will be difficult for outsiders (including investors) to understand the company. If it doesn’t have a specific quality that makes it believable, people won’t be able to see the company for what you perceive it as.

The importance of creating a company that is attractive to outsiders is twofold: you will have a more attractive product and you will also have a more marketable product. Aside from the benefit on your marketing strategy, focusing your operational management on creating allure will get your team noticed. Since the individuals at a company are often the ones that are being judged the harshest, it would be wise to have a product that you could at least lean back on.

When you’ve created a credible product and company strategy, you will have an immensely easier time looking for investors. But if the compelling quality is absent in your company, they’ll struggle to see your vision. For more on the importance of creating a compelling company, watch the video featuring Mark Suster.
