Jump-Starting Your Content Marketing Campaign

February 9, 2011

Sometimes the first step can be the most difficult.

But after you get it out of the way, the rest of your steps will feel natural. And they won’t have the pressure of that initial plunge attached to them. Implementing a content marketing strategy can awaken many of the same fears in you. You may be unsure about creating a best practices process for your campaign; you could think that the challenge is too daunting; or you may be unsure about whether or not the return is worth the investment.

For those that realize the potential of content marketing, getting started is a twofold process. First, figure out what the informational needs of your customers are. And at the same time, you need to understand how to approach your campaign from a marketing standpoint. So you have your altruistic perspective to consider and your for-profit, pragmatic needs.

After you’ve worked out the logistics, it’s time to dive right in and start the conversation with your customers. For more on how to start content marketing, watch the video from OpenView Labs featuring Joe Pulizzi.
