Nice Sales Ops Rant

October 29, 2009

Today I read an amazing blog post on what has come to be one of my new favorite blogs, The Sales Operations Blog, written by Marci Reynolds. The post titled “A Rant Against Anecdotal Decision Making” describes a phenomenon that almost every sales operations professional has most certainly and unfortunately had to deal with; people making decisions based on incomplete anecdotal evidence as opposed to hard facts and data.

Expansion stage venture capital firms must be especially weary of such behavior because there are a lot of really interesting companies out there, but only by really scrutinizing the anecdotal evidence and really analyzing the hard facts and data can you make the right investment decisions.
