Traditional publishing in today’s world is challenged by a number of market aspects.
Time, Inc. is one publisher that has been able to reshape itself, externally and internally, to adapt with these changes. But while the evolution has been slow, company strategies need to change quickly in order to survive. A moment’s hesitation can be the difference between being ahead of the pack or falling into an abyss of bleakness.
As an example, consider the companies that were able to forge into social media while others were still undecided. Those companies are now reaping the benefits, and the other companies, are struggling with the consequences.
Perceptions of the publishers have evolved, too. People understand that the traditional publishing industry is at a crossroads. And hopefully, assuming they’re able to make the necessary changes to survive, they will be able to pave a new path into the Digital Age.
