Sales Leaders: What if You Couldn’t Get More Customers?
January 8, 2012
Under the pretense that there are always more customers out there, your current customer base may not seem as valuable.
But what if you couldn’t get any more new customers? You would probably treat your current crop of customers much differently. This is the same question sales expert Jill Konrath poses in this short video. Imagine how differently you would operate as a salesperson.
Konrath believes that, if you were to be imagine a world without new clients, you would see your current ones in an entirely new light. Surviving in this hypothetical world would require much attention to detail; your current customers would never be undervalued or taken for granted again.
Consider the things you would do differently. Consider the things you would do more or less of. These are the sorts of changes you should be making right now, even though the potential to add new customers is always possibility outside of this alternate reality, she says.
