The Educational Demand Dilemma in Business
November 22, 2011
Depending on your particular field, the educational expectations can be great.
Is assuming a mountain of debt unavoidable? Linda Avey is the co-founder of 23andMe and argues that a basic degree can be enough to get your foot in the door — and that’s all it takes in many cases. Avey herself has a bachelor’s degree and a story that proves it’s possible to achieve great things without an advanced degree.
In this short video, Avey does go on to say that education is still the sturdiest foundation for entrepreneurial achievement. But she also believes that, in general, the perception of education is a misguided one. She says that people should pursue lifelong educations instead of leaving their scholastic life behind them once they attain their degree of choice.
