Warren Buffett’s Take on Effective Investor Relations

March 20, 2012

Few people are as qualified to dispense investor relations advice as Warren Buffet, a man bested by few when it comes to investing.

So what does Buffet, one of the richest people in the world, have to say about investor relations? In this video, he tells the audience that one of the largest hurdles an effective investor relations campaign has to clear is addressing such a wide range of people. To overcome this, Buffet pretends that he is writing a letter to his two sisters.

Adding to the fictional narrative, his two sisters have been away for a year and want to know how his company is doing (they’re investors in it). So he begins to form the letter, informing them of important happenings. Then, when he’s done, he says he removes his sisters’ names and addresses it to all of his company’s investors. For more on how Buffett approaches investor relations, watch the video.
